Untangling the Threads of Trauma of C-PTSD

“Trauma is perhaps the most avoided, ignored, belittled, denied, misunderstood, and untreated cause of human suffering.” ~ Peter Levine

Shame. Trauma. Incest. Mother Wound. NPE. Dissociation. C-PTSD. Intergenerational Trauma. Attachment Trauma. So many buzz words that are finally being brought to the forefront. At almost 50 years of age, I've lived through the taboo subjects and the hush around trauma as well as the antiquated beliefs that mothers can do no wrong and fathers can do what they want with their wives and children. Trauma is finally being talked about and seen; from the breakthrough book, The Body Keeps the Score, to the #ItHappenedtoMe movement to the advent of the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences), and to the studies showing intergenerational trauma is real.
Have you heard that trauma begets trauma? I know... a depressing statement. However, it's true that when a person goes through trauma
As a CTRC (Certified Trauma Recover Coach) with my own experience in all of the complex traumas above, as well as years of experience in different treatment modalities, I want to walk with you on your own journey to find life again, to find your purpose, and to heal from painful experiences and their aftereffects.

I hope to guide you in untangling the threads of your own traumas. As hard as we try to deny, resist, reject, minimize, and/or avoid our painful pasts, they are threads that make up our lives creating a tapestry of who we are.

The Threads of Trauma
by: Mundy Morgan

The threads of trauma weave through every facet of my life
Every fiber of my being has been affected by unwanted strife
The threads of trauma were sewn in and they follow me around
I continually struggle by the threads that have me bound
To ever live happily seems to be a figment of my imagination
Some threads were already there at the beginning of my creation
With the earliest of traumas comes a lifetime of hurt
These threads of trauma can be seen by some as a family curse
My whole self is stitched up with threads that can’t be broken
Like a spider web holding all the lies that can’t be spoken

I must learn to speak my truth and rewrite my story
So future generations can have a better history

As I learn to interweave the threads, I'll integrate my identity
So I'll see myself clearly and set future generations free.

I'm a childhood abuse survivor. I'm working at unraveling the different threads of trauma I've been through in my life and working to heal their effects.
These colorful threads woven through my face represent the traumas I've endured and the parts of me that have split to cope with it. Some threads began before I was even born. It's bewildering how patterns repeat themselves through the generations. The other threads have been woven in from infancy to now. I'll share these threads in hopes to enlighten and support others. Because of these threads, many elements of my personality were never even integrated. My hope is that through recovery, I can integrate the parts of myself to create an interwoven tapestry of authenticity and wholeness.
